  • Dawn of a New Day

GOOD MORNING!! I couldn’t be happier to say this, so I’m going to say it loud and proud! MY LITTLE MAIL LADY HAS RETURNED BACK AT WORK TODAY – Can you believe that! Even though she is scheduled for chemo on Sunday, she is spending the last of her second round bringing you, your mail today and tomorrow and Saturday too!! If you see her on the route please HONK. If you know she is my mom, HONK TWICE and if you know her story – LAY ON THE HORN!!!!!!!! For the first time, I feel like my mom has cancer by the horns. (Get it? HAHA I kill myself). Did you notice I said my mom has cancer, CANCER DOES NOT HAVE HER! In a funny way I feel like cancer has given my mom her life back and it’s starting right now today as she is on the road to recovery and to your mailboxes. She has been through some pretty hard times over a course of months but she is strong and has such a positive attitude. Like I have always said: she is my hero! In this moment her mind is not on her disease but rather on her beautiful life she is recreating again, just like a new day, a new morning of feeling refreshed and knowing that God is with her at all times.

I remember the weekend before we left to leave for CTCA, I brought my mother to the post office to tell her friends not bye but see you later. I remember her crying all the way home in fear that would be the last she would see her friends, co-workers and her career. It was one of those sad emotional days that we were faced with at the time. Courage can both be fragile and strong all at the same time. My mother is living proof that Gods will can be done.

    Honk Honk!

    xoxo
