Happy Birthday Mom!
Most women fear another birthday. I know I have/did/do, I’m constantly worrying about my face, my weight and aging gracefully. I mean, seriously, who was the last person you met that actually was looking forward to turning another age older and desperately trying to hang on to their youth.
However, today is one of the happiest days for my mom, who is celebrating her 52nd birthday. It’s truly a milestone for her after MD Anderson said she would never see the age 52. My mom doesn’t fear the age of getting older anymore. She fears the age of never growing old. I know for me, I love being around older people. I’m always finding myself thinking, how I want to be like them, specially my mom. She is so strong and such a fighter. 52, is going to be a great year for her/us.
I hope the older we get, the more we can look back on our lives, with a sense of how much we’ve learned and grown along the way, and can come to appreciate both our past scars and our joys from this cancer journey (wrinkles and all) and embrace the mental and emotional experiences we have faced.

The best is truly yet to come,
