I really wanted to share these picture yesterday as a Veterans Day post, but being so busy I never had the time to sit down and think about what I wanted to write. So here they are today! And I couldn’t think of better pictures to share for Veterans Day than these.
Smitty’s is a local barber shop that has been in our downtown for many, many years. I’ve never really became familiar with the inside of the shop, or knew a lot about it, so I wanted to take the time with Newnan to experience a little socializing.
I’m so glad I did, and now I regret not coming sooner. These men were a down right hoot! They told me to never get Newnan fixed, as he would never be the same, and one gentleman repeatedly said, I needed to start feeding Newnan vitamins. The conversation with these men is one I will never forget. And I’m thinking about bringing Newnan again for another visit.
I love capturing how a picture can tell a story or take you back in time, and this barber shop was nothing short of speaking through its southern roots.
These pictures of Newnan and I really make me giggle, because as I was trying to fit this ‘miniature pony’ in my lap, my top knot was falling out. Try explaining that inside a barber shop full of Veterans!
