Happy weekend before Christmas party people! Every year I turn my wrapping paper in the opposite direction and create my own personal touches. I just love making things pretty and keeping up with this tradition I started.
When cameron believed, he was so excited that the Elves would personalize his packages from the North Pole. His face would light up. Then he would run outside and see if the reindeer had eaten the ice ring we would make the night before. It was truly precious.
Now that he is coming into the teenage years, he doesn’t get excited about much or express any excitement, and this kind-of makes me sad.
But good news here, is we have never once told him any different, and that makes me happy again!
The elf-on-the-shelf still comes, (although he pretty much sits in one place for a couple of days, or hops from door knob to door knob) and I still get excited about Santa coming on Christmas Eve.
But Cameron doesn’t care in the less, when he walks by and says some teenager, smart-butt comment, I just get that much more excited and say some silly comment about believing.
I think even when my baby turns 50 years old I’ll still do all of this. Even if I get an eye roll, or the cold shoulder!
Anyhoo, if you’re looking for last minute ideas here are a few that might help! All you will need is a few markers, paint, glitter, and glue and the opposite side of your wrapping paper.
