  • Place Is My 2019 Word Of The Year | what’s Your Word

“When I tell you to join Peter and get out of the boat, you may wonder what your boat is? Your boat may be a lot of different things. What is your place of comfort, safety, and ease? It could be a place of misery, but yet, somehow or other, you’ve gotten comfortable in your own misery – so comfortable that you wouldn’t do anything about it even if you could. You may have gotten addicted to dysfunction. The sad thing is that most people yield to the fear of change and remain stuck in life. Maybe your boat consists of people whose approval you crave, who rule all of your decisions and who bind your life to their lives. If they approve of it, you do it, and if they don’t like it, you don’t. You may be so addicted to getting your approval from other people that you let everyone else run your life, and you’re too afraid to confront them and stand up to them. Are you going to sit in your miserable little boat for the rest of your life and be unhappy? Or are you ready to say, I’ve had enough of this! I am ready to step out with confidence and follow God fully!”

Happy New Year’s everyone!  Do you feel refreshed? Do you feel alive? Or are you going to sit in your miserable little boat for another year and be unhappy!? I have sat in that damn miserable little boat for far too long, waiting for my Jesus to magically place something in my lap. When in reality all I needed to do was step out of the boat.

I actually didn’t think I would feel as excited as I am right now. I thought for sure I would be in the same rut, in the exact same place, feeling the exact say way, in the exact same boat! Then something happen to me, I stood up for myself and I stop allowing Satan to work through people or myself. This year don’t allow yourself to be controlled by others! If you are unhappy in a situation, stand up for yourself! Being strong will always be the ultimate source of pretty. I promise you that, and I promise you, you can find the strength to block whatever is making you afraid to step out your boat.

With all of this in mind, I just recently read where people are sharing a specific word they have chosen for their New Year’s to live by. This particularly didn’t sound like a bad idea, so I came up with my own word for this New Year’s. This is not something I have ever done before. Today as the calendar as turned over, I can’t stop shaking the words, “place” as my focal point for this year.

The word, “place” is something I would like to weave into moreof my life this year. Why might you ask? Well, it’s where I can use it for myself in a couple of different areas:  just as my motto for my blog, through cancer, fashion and faith.

Fashion: Creativity it means pursuing more personal creative projects whether a fun location I’m traveling too or a place within your home to inspire you by. I’m looking forward to dreaming up the most creative concepts and excited to share them.

Faith: I like to think of this as a sacred place for myself.

And lastly, cancer: it’s so easy to go through our days just taking things as they come and responding to the circumstances at hand instead of proactively engaging with the world around us. When you get into a tight place, and everything goes against you till it seems as if you couldn’t hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that’s just the place and time that the tide’ll turn. And just like Peter getting out the boat.

Use that state of place for the greater good, with people that truly love to be a part of your life.

    Happy New Years

Wishing your family the very best
